About the role
Halter is a leading provider of virtual fencing technology. This role is crucial to our growth, driving new business in the Northern California region while ensuring ongoing customer success. The Territory Manager will execute sales strategies, build strong customer relationships, and meet ambitious growth targets, acting as Harmon’s on‑the‑ground representative.
This role covers the Northern region of California. Frequent travel is expected.
What your day could look likeProspecting New Business: Attend local cattle auctions, engage with livestock associations, build a new pipeline through outbound lead generation, and respond to inbound leads promptly.
In‑Field Sales: Meet potential customers at their ranches, discuss the value of Halter’s solutions, and provide onsite demonstrations.
Expanding Existing Opportunities: Grow current accounts by identifying upsell opportunities and increasing product use.
Hitting Sales Targets: Manage a pipeline, prioritize deals, and achieve quarterly sales goals.
Customer Account Management: Maintain post‑sale relationships, ensure satisfaction, and coordinate with onboarding teams.
Territory Ownership: Own the entire territory, engage with local, state, and federal stakeholders, and drive regional growth.
Customer Onboarding: Own the transition from sales to implementation, ensuring a smooth customer experience during deployment.
Field Learnings & Feedback: Collect and advocate for customer feedback within the territory.
Collaborating with Support Teams: Escalate issues, coordinate solutions, and keep customers fully supported.
Attending Industry Events: Network at events, generate leads, and build industry relationships.
Contributing to the US Sales Strategy: Work with the broader team to optimize sales processes and strategies.
Driven Attitude & Communication skills: Results‑oriented, proactive, and adept at communicating with customers and internal teams.
Ranching / Cattle
Experience:
Knowledgeable about ranching or cattle operations and the industry’s unique challenges.Sales & Customer Success Expertise: Proven track record building long‑term customer relationships, negotiating value‑based sales, and expanding engagements.
Territory Management
Experience:
Experience managing a large territory with balanced sales and customer success focus, preferably in agriculture or technology.Problem Solving & Collaboration Ability: Resourceful and able to work with cross‑functional teams to resolve challenges.
Willingness to Travel: Frequent travel within the territory is required.
Experience with precision agriculture or virtual fencing technologies.
Background in customer‑facing agricultural technology roles.
Experience selling SaaS solutions in a B2B environment.
