VESTRA Resources Inc. is seeking an energetic, self‑motivated individual to join our environmental services team. The role is full‑time, 40 hours per week, on‑site in Redding, CA, with occasional overtime and weekend hours, and some travel for field assignments.
Responsibilities- Prepare NEPA or CEQA documents, environmental regulatory compliance documents, and technical reports.
- Develop and submit environmental permit applications.
- Plan and implement biological field work to support projects.
- Conduct biological habitat evaluations, surveys, and studies for special‑status species and/or environmental areas.
- Perform construction biological monitoring.
- B.S. or M.S. in Biology, Wildlife, Botany, Fisheries, or a related discipline.
- Two to five years of experience in related field work.
- Excellent written communication skills and strong interpersonal abilities.
- Strong organizational skills, problem‑solving aptitude, and ability to work in a fast‑paced, challenging environment.
- Proficiency in biological field data collection, technical reporting, statistical techniques, use of identification keys, orienteering with topographic maps and aerial photos, and locating positions in steep terrain.
- Familiarity with GPS electronic data recorders, iPad or similar devices, and basic use of ArcGIS.
- Experience with wildlife surveys (e.g., Northern Spotted Owls, Goshawks) and botany surveys is preferred.
- Understanding of permitting and project processes; knowledge of Federal and State of California laws and regulations (NEPA, CEQA, ESA, CESA, CWA) is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a group.
- Physical capability to work in varied environmental conditions, including rugged hiking, camping, and remote locations.
- Ability to occasionally lift and move up to 50 lbs, operate a 4×4 truck and ATV, and calibrate field measurement equipment.
- Must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States without sponsorship.
- Hourly wage ranging from $28.85 to $48.08, based on experience.
