Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Overview
Join our life‑saving team in Redding, CA and take advantage of a sign‑on bonus up to $65,000 and a location bonus up to 15%. We are seeking an A&P‑licensed mechanic with at least 2 years of experience as a Certified Aircraft Mechanic to work on our helicopters.
Responsibilities- Review and evaluate daily maintenance or inspection requirements and carry out tasks to maintain the aircraft’s airworthiness.
- Notify the Lead Mechanic of unusual situations requiring schedule changes, aircraft changes, extra manpower or technical assistance.
- When at a field base, maintain all assigned aircraft, review stock levels, requisition spares, and ensure required repairs are performed.
- Ensure the safety and security of all company assets at the field base.
- Prepare reports, requisitions, inventories, and personally certify on aircraft logs and related inspection and maintenance forms that work meets FAA, manufacturer, and PHI Health requirements.
- Maintain entry in RAMCO, including work packages, status sheets, removals and installs.
- Maintain close communication with the Lead Mechanic and AMBS to ensure timely job completion.
- Maintain parts inventory and recommend level changes when necessary.
- Maintain company‑provided special tools and ensure calibration is performed as scheduled.
- Perform miscellaneous related duties as assigned.
- High School diploma.
- FAA Mechanic Certificate with both Airframe and Powerplant endorsements.
- At least 2 years of maintenance experience as a Certified Mechanic.
- Basic communication skills.
- Computer skills required.
- Must be able to pass a pre‑placement physical exam including functional capacity (strength and flexibility assessment, lift up to 100 pounds), drug screening, and background screen.
- For Roving Maintenance Team members: sheet metal repair and/or avionics troubleshooting/repair skills.
- Must be able to travel frequently, sometimes on short notice during scheduled shifts.
- Must be able to work night shifts when maintenance events dictate.
- Base hourly pay: $31.33 – $44.11 (approx. $74,941 – $105,511 annually).
- Location bonus: up to 15% (approx. $86,183 – $121,338 annually with location bonus).
- Sign‑on bonus: up to $65,000 for California candidates (may vary based on overtime and double time hours).
- Shift bonuses, shift incentives, annual safety bonus, annual employee bonus and other incentive programs.

7 & 7 schedule. Candidates must live within a one‑hour drive or 60 miles of the base (whichever is greater). Travel between bases is required.
