The ideal candidate for the Truck/Equipment Mechanic role is a skilled and dependable technician with hands-on experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel and gas-powered trucks, heavy equipment, and related machinery.
Compensation of the Truck/Equipment Mechanic:
- $25- $30 per hour, depending on experience
- Vision, dental, medical offered through O2
- Benefits offered after a probationary period include health, dental, vision, and life insurance, as well as a Simple IRA Retirement Plan (with employer matching up to 3% of the employee's contribution).
- Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays
- Proven experience as a mechanic for trucks, tractors, trailers, and various equipment.
- Knowledge of hydraulics and electrical wiring systems.
- Ability to perform 90-day and annual BIT inspections on tractors and trailers.
- Experience servicing and repairing equipment such as CAT forklifts, balers, car presses, and log loader cranes.
- Proficient in adjusting brakes and repairing lighting systems on tractors and trailers.
- Familiarity with ordering parts and managing purchase orders and work orders.
- Physical ability to lift 50 pounds regularly.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and compliance.
- Order parts and manage inventory using purchase orders and work orders.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on tractors, trailers, and various equipment.
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic systems and electrical wiring issues.
- Adjust brakes and repair lights on tractors and trailers.
- Conduct 90-day and annual BIT inspections for tractors and trailers.
- Service and maintain equipment, including CAT forklifts, balers, car presses, and log loader cranes.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
- Adhere to safety protocols and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members about equipment status and requirements.
