Under the direction of the Branch Manager, candidates will be responsible for assisting customers with order related transactions and inquiries. Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, builders, and other key accounts.
- Represent a wide range of in-demand building products and value‑added services.
- Provide top‑tier customer service and follow through on orders and account needs.
- Partner with branch operations to ensure customer satisfaction and smooth fulfillment.
- Input orders accurately into the computer system and operate the cash register to finalize transactions.
Grow beyond the counter and into dispatch/logistics:
- Furnishes a load list with truck loading instructions and delivery sequence to yard personnel.
- Coordinates daily pre‑staging of loads and the following day’s schedules ensuring speedy in‑and‑out times of trucks on second and third runs.
- Assists yard personnel in pulling and staging of inter‑company orders, loading of trucks, and the receiving of materials.
- Coordinates all pertinent paperwork, forms, copies and maps on a daily basis for each delivery scheduled.
- Utilizes load consolidation techniques to maximize load‑per‑truck efficiency, organizes drivers to ensure most efficient service to customer, re‑routes drivers as necessary to accommodate special requests, and knows time required for loading/stocking materials at job sites.
- Assists with supervising yard personnel to assure daily duties are completed according to set time schedules.
- Minimum of 6 months experience in a customer service position.
- Excellent telephone etiquette.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage your time, pipeline, and follow‑ups independently.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
