We are currently on the lookout for an experienced Bus Monitor to join our elite team in Redding, California As a key member, you will be entrusted with ensuring safe and comfortable transportation for our passengers, while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and customer service.
Non-CBA Position:Competitive compensation package of minimum $23.50 per hour – $25.50 per hour Maximum
Vacation: minimum of 8 days per year
Sick days: 5 days
11 total holidays, including 8 paid holidays. Other standard benefits: 401(k) retirement plan, medical, dental and vision, life insurance, short-term disability, voluntary long-term disability.
Knows the route and remains alert to monitor the welfare of passengers while in route. Keeps order on the bus.
Communicates behavior problems and conditions of various stops with the driver. Cooperates and communicates with school personnel, parents and students.
Assists in pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus.
Assists passengers in the loading and unloading process.
Cooperates and communicates with day programs.
Attends all safety and training meetings.
Conducts emergency evacuation from the bus, including use of exiting by emergency door.
Opens and closes service doors and moves up and down steps multiple times daily.

Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
The essential functions of this position require the ability to:
Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions-100% of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations.
Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces
Push and pull objects up to 150 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday;
Occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground levelWithstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
