Qualifications- CT teaching certification in Special Education K-12.
- Certification in Multi‑Sensory Reading Programs such as Wilson or Orton‑Gillingham. Prior experience working with students with special needs, including dyslexia. Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be flexible, creative, and demonstrate strong organization skills.
- Must be highly motivated and self‑directed.
- Work collaboratively with individual student teams.
- Provide Case Manager services, including development, implementation, and monitoring of IEP goals and objectives; liaison with general education teachers; communication with home; running Team meetings.
- Attend PPT's and other meetings for assigned students and present up‑to‑date information on progress toward goals and objectives.
- Conduct and present educational testing results, using this information to review and revise current IEP goals and objectives.
- Collect and manage data pertaining to various student goals and objectives. Ensure that all class accommodations are being implemented in the appropriate settings. Participate in professional development and other meetings with the special education department and school‑wide faculty.
- Provide consultative services in general education classes; assist in adapting and modifying curriculum materials and instructional approaches; serve as a resource to the general education staff in regards to working with students with dyslexia.
