Physical Education Teacher
Position: Health and Physical Education (.64)
Location: Joel Barlow High School
Date Available: Commencing with the school year.
Salary & Benefits: In accordance with the Joel Barlow Education Association’s bargaining unit contract. Competitive benefits.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement curriculum aligned with state and national Health and Physical Education standards.
- Instruct various high school Health and Physical Education courses.
- Demonstrate knowledge of teaching methods and educational practices for secondary school teaching of Health and Physical Education.
- Prepare lesson plans that achieve clear objectives, use appropriate techniques, and serve the needs of all learners in both classroom and physical activity settings.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and curriculum development initiatives.
- Appropriate CT teaching certification in Physical Education (044) and Health Education (043).
- Strong knowledge base in Health and Physical Education disciplines and enthusiasm for teaching.
- Strong communication skills.
- Strong understanding of the developmental needs of young adolescents.
- Experience or interest in Health/PE curriculum writing and development.
