Seeking 3 Full Time Behavior Technicians BEHAVIOR TECHNICIAN Date Available

Commencing with the  school year. Official start date will be August 25, 2026. Additional summer hours may be available.

Salary & Benefits

In accordance with the Joel Barlow High School Support Staff collective bargaining unit agreement. Salary range: $26.24/hour to $28.34/hour.

Schedule

35 hours/week, 181 days per school year, Monday-Friday when school is in session and additional hours during the summer for the Extended School Year Program.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education or related field OR Associate’s Degree with evidence of past experience and training in behavioral therapy
  • Training and experience in Applied Behavior Analysis techniques is preferred
  • Knowledge and experience in special education practices used in working with students with autism
  • Basic knowledge of assistive technology and augmented communication
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be highly motivated and self-directed
  • Relates well with students, staff and parents of students
Responsibilities
  • Provide behavioral and academic support for assigned student throughout the day
  • Implement IEP goals as directed by the Special Education teacher and psychologist
  • Attend related services sessions with student (e.g., Speech, OT, PT) and reinforce work in these goal areas
  • Work with other specialists and parents to implement additional programs, including specified goals and objectives
  • Maintain accurate data and graphing in all designated programs
  • Plan and implement all aspects of systematic instructional sequences within self-contained classroom, inclusive environments, and typical peer opportunities under guidance of the Special Education teacher
  • Provide reports of data and student progress as deemed necessary by teacher or psychologist
  • Meet with team members on a regular basis
  • Attend staff meetings and training sessions as scheduled
