Special Education Teacher

• Current special education teaching certification, meeting state requirements
• Background or specialization in autism spectrum disorders preferred
• Previous experience supporting students with autism or similar special needs in educational settings
• Ability to adapt curriculum and implement effective individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with families, teachers, and support staff
• Passion for advocacy and positive behavior interventions

• Provide direct instruction and classroom support to students on the autism spectrum
• Develop and modify IEPs in cooperation with multidisciplinary teams
• Utilize evidence-based strategies and interventions tailored to individual student needs
• Foster an accepting, structured, and positive learning environment
• Track student progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with policies
• Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and parent conferences as required
• Incorporate sensory-friendly approaches and assistive communication techniques as needed
