Summary

This position will report to the Upper School Principal as part of the Upper School administrative team. The Principal Administrative Assistant models a servant’s heart and promotes an attitude of respect, teamwork and professionalism by speaking well of other faculty and staff members; supports our entire school system - lower school, middle school, upper school; prays for and with other faculty and staff;

encourages others in Godly living and excellence; lovingly holds others accountable; actively pursues ways to encourage members of the schools. Responsibilities will broadly include administrative support and event planning, which will include working with the principal, faculty, and staff to include, but not limited to, the following tasks:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to the Upper School Principal, Dean of Students, Director of Student Life, and other administrators as required
  • Substitute coordinator for Middle and Upper School campuses
  • Manage textbook communication, storage, collection and distribution
  • Manage and coordinate facilities reservations, communicating with all relevant stakeholders as required for each event
  • Assist students with loaner computers and other classroom supplies as needed
  • Assist administrators with dress code checks
  • Maintain teacher supplies for classrooms and as needed
  • Prepare and oversee system of managing student locks and lockers
  • Coordinate the Commencement Planning team, communicating with site personnel and arranging logistics as required throughout the planning and event process
  • Prepare and circulate morning announcements throughout the year
  • Collaborate with administrative assistants on other campuses for multi-campus events as needed
  • Provide logistical support to all-school teacher events, such as beginning of the year in-service, training days, appreciation events
  • Coordinate with Eagle Parents for logistics as needed
Supervisory Expectations

The Upper School Principal Admin Assistant will oversee the front office operations at the upper school.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree and experience in an education setting are preferred.

  • Knowledge of Contact Management systems;
    Database software;
    Spreadsheet software;
    Internet and Word Processing software, including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations;
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals;
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists;
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
