We are a Hispanic Serving Institution, with 40% of our student body composed of first-generation students and believe that bringing together faculty, students, and staff from diverse cultural and/or socio-economic backgrounds creates a richer learning environment. The Chemistry Department is ACS accredited, serving undergraduate major/minor students in Chemistry & Biochemistry as well as the general education program of the College of Arts and Sciences.

Furthermore, the University of Redlands is committed to providing students with transformative experiential learning opportunities through its Core Four initiative: undergraduate research, community service learning, internships, and study away. We welcome candidates who are enthusiastic about supporting student participation in high-impact practices and integrating experiential learning into their teaching, mentoring, and advising.

A Ph.D. (or near completion of degree) in chemistry or biochemistry? is required at the time of appointment. If the Ph.D. is not complete at the time of appointment, the appointed candidate may begin at the rank of instructor and convert to assistant professor upon completion of the degree within a reasonable and agreed upon period of time.
