Overview
Esri is enhancing the ArcGIS system with new AI capabilities that improve automation, expand GeoAI tools and models, strengthen productivity features, and deepen platform integrations across desktop, web, mobile, and enterprise environments. The Product Manager will lead core product management activities—including roadmap development, customer research, cross‑functional collaboration, partner engagement, and launch planning—to deliver responsible and impactful AI across ArcGIS and advance strategic initiatives that empower users to create and operationalize ArcGIS AI components.
Responsibilities- Translate customer needs, market opportunities, and competitive signals into structured product requirements, problem statements, and a prioritized roadmap that balances innovation, feasibility, and customer trust.
- Collaborate with software development through the full lifecycle of AI products.
- Engage partners, distributors, and global business development to expand adoption, support joint‑solution development, and gather insights from diverse markets.
- Develop and support launch plans with Product Marketing by crafting messaging, writing value propositions, building demos, producing enablement materials, and supporting events.
- Support Sales, Software Engineering, and Product Marketing with competitive guidance, demos, RFP and RFI responses, and pricing leadership.
- Lead and direct customer‑facing programs such as early adopter programs, betas, advisory sessions, roadmap reviews, and strategic briefings.
- Maintain actionable feedback loops with Support, Sales, and other teams to identify friction points, synthesize patterns, and prioritize in Productboard.
- Implement operational excellence by maintaining metrics dashboards and cross‑team communication rhythms for high‑quality delivery.
- Collaborate with Legal, Security, Privacy, and IT to ensure compliance, data sovereignty, accessibility, and responsible AI governance are integrated into features and scenarios.
- Provide internal enablement to increase organizational understanding of AI capabilities.
- Represent Esri at conferences, webinars, user groups, partner summits, and technical communities, communicating product strategy and best practices in geospatial AI.
- Work closely with engineering, design, and AI platform teams to define technical requirements, choose model integration patterns, validate evaluation metrics, design guardrails, and ensure assistants and agents perform reliably in alignment with Esri AI principles.
- 2+ years in product management, product engineering, technical support, or a similar technical role.
- Proven ability to define product strategy and collaborate with engineering and design to deliver customer‑facing capabilities.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Ability to translate complex GIS and AI workflows into clear, actionable product requirements.
- Hands‑on experience shipping AI‑powered features (e.g., LLM applications, code assistants, automation) or direct collaboration with teams building them.
- Travel: 10–20% for strategic meetings, customer visits, conferences, and partner engagements.
- Bachelor’s degree in GIS, computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with geospatial technologies and the ArcGIS system, including common GIS data models and workflows.
- Familiarity with responsible AI practices such as trust, transparency, evaluation, telemetry, and data governance.
- Experience engaging customers, partners, or distributors in roadmap, adoption, and technical enablement discussions.
- Background working in enterprise software and cross‑functional product organizations.
Base salary range: $95,160 USD – $157,456 USD.
