Summary

Responsible for the development and implementation of activities in production area(s) to meet production goals, quality and cost objectives. Prioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency and materials supply. Plans and administers procedures and budgets. This job will make budgetary recommendations on capital expenditures and direct/indirect labor. Selects and develops personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the production function and develops schedules and manpower requirements for assigned areas.

Tasks and assignments tend to be complex, non-routine and/or require a greater level of expertise. Receives assignments in the form of objectives with goals and process to meet goals outlined Duties are performed under limited supervision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure that departments within the organization reach production goals within budget and a high level of quality.
  • Analyzes production specifications and plant capacity data and performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, tools and human resource requirements.
  • Determines work schedules and overtime, allocation of resources and which machines will run and resolves problems as they occur.
  • Coordinate, set up and implement standard operating procedure for all production operations.
  • Manage the adherence to prescribed procedures to ensure first pass quality meets or exceeds planned goals.
  • Prepares production reports and drafting a timescale for the job.
  • Works with purchasing to improve the quality of materials from suppliers.
  • Daily availability to include evenings and weekends when necessary to reach goals and deadlines.
Supervisory Responsibilities

This job provides general supervision to a functional area which may include supervision of lower level supervisors and direct supervision of other exempt and non-exempt personnel. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include providing leadership to employees, interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees;

addressing complaints and resolving problems.
