Position: Charge Nurse - Tele 3200

Reporting to the Nursing Director, this position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of Redlands Community Hospital. It is expected the employee demonstrates behavior consistent with our Standards of Performance. The Charge Nurse adheres to the Patient’s First Philosophy of Safety, Compassion, and Efficiency. The Charge Nurse coordinates care for individual patients and leads the care delivery for multiple patients in the nursing area per hospital policies and procedures.

The Charge Nurse collaborates with other disciplines and unit leaders to ensure safe and effective patient care delivery. The Charge Nurse assigns nursing personnel to specific patients based on skill, experience, temperament, and patient acuity. This role serves as a resource of information and coordinates all activities within the department.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Current CA State licensure as a Registered Nurse required.
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • ACLS required.
  • Current NIHSS certificate required.
  • Experience and/or training in leadership preferred.
EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE
  • Graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse (RN) program required.
  • Three to five years of relevant experience in the assigned service area preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the clinical area, and leadership ability preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of computer (Word, Excel, and e-mail functions).
  • BSN preferred, MSN desired.
CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSES
  • Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
  • Current BLS (American Heart Association) certification required.
  • Current ACLS (American Heart Association) required within 3 months of hire (ACLS required within 6 months for new grad RNs).
  • Current NIHSS certificate required within 6 months of hire.
  • MAB is required to be completed on the first day of work. (Grandfathered: existing employees must complete new requirements by 6/9/2025.)
