ECORP Consulting, Inc. is seeking a full-time Staff Archaeologist to join our Southern California cultural resources team. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of projects throughout the region while based in our Redlands, California office.
The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to support both field- and office-based cultural resources as well as work independently while collaborating effectively with project teams and clients.
Responsibilities include:- Conduct pedestrian surveys and site documentation
- Prepare maps, records, technical reports, and other cultural resources documentation
- Perform construction monitoring and archaeological excavations
- Conduct archival, records, and background research as needed
- Assist with the analysis and interpretation of archaeological data
- Coordinate and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and other project stakeholders
- Support project management and business development activities within the region
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior cultural resources staff, as appropriate
- Master’s degree or higher in Anthropology, Archaeology, or a closely related field
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience; 8 years of experience in environmental and cultural resources management in California is highly desired
- Ability to conduct fieldwork and construction monitoring, including travel and work in challenging outdoor environments
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a smaller office and multidisciplinary project team
- Working knowledge of federal and California cultural resources regulations
- Familiarity with the prehistory, history, archaeology, and ethnography of Southern California
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines
This position requires hiking over uneven terrain, carrying field equipment, working outdoors in varying weather conditions, and standing or walking for extended periods.
Compensation:This is a full-time hourly position with a range of $38.00 to $50.00 per hour
, annualized at approximately $79,000 to $104,000 per year based on a full-time schedule.
Starting salary is determined by relevant experience, education, certifications/permits, geographic location, internal equity, and market conditions.
