  • Develop and execute functional, integration, and automation tests for new and existing API capabilities.
  • Advocate for users and developers within the software development team, ensuring APIs are intuitive, consistent, and built to support customer workflows.
  • Participate in project planning, contributing to scope definition, timelines, and delivery milestones.
  • Coordinate and communicate REST API features, updates, and changes with internal teams across engineering, documentation, support, and product management.
  • Certify REST API features prior to product release, ensuring quality and readiness.
  • Write and maintain API reference documentation, samples, and developer‑friendly guidance.
  • Present REST API features, design decisions, and release readiness at internal milestone and review meetings.
  • Showcase API capabilities and best practices by presenting at Esri conferences.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience designing, testing, and validating RESTful APIs.
  • Solid understanding of REST, web services, and HTTP concepts (methods, headers, status codes, authentication, security).
  • Proficiency in one or more programming or scripting languages (such as Python, JavaScript, Java).
  • Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, or other similar geospatial technology.
  • Ability to write clear, accurate, and developer‑friendly technical documentation.
  • Strong communication skills and comfort collaborating across teams.
  • Attention to detail, ownership mindset, and commitment to product quality.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, GIS, or related field.
Recommended Qualifications
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms and services, such as Amazon S3, SQS, EC2, and Azure.
  • Experience with API test automation frameworks or performance testing.
  • Experience presenting technical topics to internal or external audiences.
