As a software engineer, you will work with our cross-functional team of product engineers, designers, product managers, and release engineers. You will help to actively enhance the capability of ArcGIS Online feature services from inception to delivery, using the latest technology. We are looking for professionals in several specific areas including relational (PostgreSQL, SQLServer) and No-SQL databases, Distributed database, and RESTful web services.
Responsibilities- Design and build server-side RESTful web service to power developer and geospatial application access to the platform
- Design, implement, and maintain components within the ArcGIS Online platform, which spans infrastructure across Azure cloud
- Find, analyze, and fix bugs and performance problems
- Build scalable, reusable, and maintainable components
- Work collaboratively with other teams to understand requirements and incorporate them into the feature service Design
- 2+ years of industry experience coding in C#, C++, and .NET platform
- Experience with Azure cloud computing platforms and services
- Solid understanding of API design and object-oriented design patterns
- Fundamental understanding of web services including REST
- Understanding of spatial databases SQL and/or No
SQL - Fundamental knowledge of computational geometry data structures and algorithms
- Relaxed in a distributed team environment
- Strong knowledge of GIT
- Bachelor’s degree in math, computer science, physics, engineering, or related field
- Problem-solving skills in C# and .NET platform
- Working knowledge of a source control system, preferably GIT
- Familiarity with JSON and HTTP protocol
- Experience in GIS data structures and algorithms; geospatial and GIS knowledge
- Passionate about creating workflows that help produce a great self-service developer experience
- Master’s degree or Ph.D. in math, computer science, physics, engineering, or related field

Base salary is one component of our total rewards strategy. Compensation decisions and the base range for this role take into account many factors including but not limited to skill sets;
experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
A reasonable estimate of the base salary range is: $101,192 USD - $167,336 USD
