Position Overview
As the Distribution Center (DC) Area Manager, you will be responsible for day‑to‑day oversight of warehouse operations, while leading a team of Distribution Center Associates to efficiently and effectively execute shipping and receiving responsibilities safely and productively in accordance with company policies and procedures. You will be a key player in our supply chain operation, ensuring all DC operations run smoothly so we can deliver the right products to the right stores at the right time.
SHIFT:
Tuesday - Friday 4:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
- Analyzes productivity, efficiency, and accuracy data to lead and drive team performance excellence and maximize individual team member performance and potential.
- Leads and acts as an ambassador for Burlington’s Core Values, fostering an engaging, professional, and inclusive team environment.
- Acts as a catalyst and action driver for complex, cross‑functional, and interdepartmental assignments and special projects.
- Practices everyday development by providing feedback, coaching, and development to their team – and receiving the same for oneself.
- Ensures ongoing training and consistent compliance with all appropriate policies, procedures, and rules.
- Effectively and confidently leverages technology, warehouse management systems, and reporting tools/programs to drive results and performance excellence.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred (Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Management, or similarly related field) or a combination of education and experience.
- 3+ years’ experience leading in a high‑volume distribution environment.
- Management/leadership experience in a supply chain distribution center environment.
- Experience implementing employee engagement, mentoring/coaching and development initiatives.
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Warehouse Management Systems preferred.
- Able to read and interpret necessary policies and procedures to perform updates and operate systems and other programs within the Distribution Center.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule.
- Ability to access all areas of the Distribution Center, including the mezzanine platforms.
- Ability to lift and move boxes weighing 40 lbs. or more and the ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Bi‑lingual a plus.
