Primary Purpose

The Redmond Campus Work Study provides a variety of critical supports to faculty, students, and staff on campus. This work includes providing IT support for streaming classes, office support, library support and covering the Student Commons Attendant desk during business hours, and providing support and service in the Clothing Connection and Food Pantry. These positions provide increased access to student services and an improved student experience on campus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Office Duties:

  • Stream classes from/to the Redmond campus. Turn on computer, log in to streaming software, print and hand out paperwork from instructor.
  • Ability to attend meetings/trainings throughout the year at the Bend and/or Redmond campus.
  • Distribution of campus mail.
  • Assist with campus projects.
  • Assist with phone answering and transferring.
  • Entry level office assignments including, filing, copying, supply inventories, other light office duties.
  • Assist with projects in various locations on campus. Examples:
    Classroom set-ups, ASCOCC events, computer lab supply monitoring.
  • Assist with trouble-shooting technology by familiarization with the Redmond campus classroom technology.
Customer Service:
  • Answer ITS and printing questions for students.
  • Manage check outs and check ins for library holds and loans.
  • Process periodicals.
  • Check out technology equipment to students.
  • Sort items for Clothing Connection, assist customers.
  • Organize and restock food pantry items.
  • Assist with check-in process for Clothing Connection and Food Pantry use.
  • Track use and participation in the Clothing Connection and Food Pantry.

  • Must be reliable and punctual.
  • Excellent customer service: ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and faculty from diverse backgrounds.

  • Considerable computer and keyboarding ability; adept with software applications/databases, internet usage.
  • Ability to be accurate and detail oriented.
  • Ability to remain flexible and do different tasks on a daily basis.
  • Ability to provide consistent and dependable customer service.
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with people from different cultural backgrounds and other aspects of human diversity.
  • Ability to use software programs and database systems which include Microsoft Office Suite, email, website editing, basic desktop publishing, and modern office equipment.

Ergonomic Requirements

Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs. Must be able to bend. Must have physical flexibility and stamina.

Regular office hours are established between 8 am – 5 pm during the workweek. Evening hours to assist with campus events may be a possibility.

Incumbent must be able to function effectively indoors in an office environment engaged in work of primarily a sedentary nature. Requires the ability to work at a workstation for extended periods. Requires to write, read written materials and computer screens, and ability to use telephonic conversations. Occasional lifting up to 25lbs. All individuals are required to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
