Residential Construction

HS Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required. Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field preferred.

Prior residential construction/trade experience preferred.

Daily travel within local and regional areas. Reliable vehicle, valid Driver’s License and insurance required.

Managed construction of homes on your land within an assigned region, ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality while delivering on schedule and within budget.

• Schedule Management:
  Manage each project according to schedule and oversee all construction activities for assigned homes, following Simplicity by Hayden Homes systems, processes, and standards.
• Safety:
  Ensure construction is conducted safely and that safety regulations are followed.
• Quality:
  Ensure each home meets quality standards and take corrective action when standards are not met.
• Budget:
  Manage all financial duties related to construction projects, keep projects on time and on budget, and negotiate with trade partners to secure the best price for value.
• Customer Communication/Management:
  Manage customer communication, educate clients on the build process, and handle customer responsibilities and the overall home building experience.

You can manage your time to meet multiple deadlines amid competing demands, use your knowledge of the building process to drive quality, safety, and timely delivery, and maintain professionalism, composure, and resilience in difficult situations. You take pride in your work and are accountable for your outcomes.

• Skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
• Abilities
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret building codes and construction documents, including I-Joist and truss engineering/layouts, blueprints, and lot gradings.
  • Ability to motivate suppliers and trade partners to deliver quality work within tight time frames while managing multiple priorities.
  • Ability to collaborate with suppliers, trade partners, customers, and internal team members to discuss and document requirements/changes, address concerns, and provide timely project status.
  • Ability to creatively solve problems and work under time constraints with minimal supervision.
• Experience
  • Prior residential construction/trade experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in homebuilding, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
