Compensation$26.91/hour (plus $0.50 for Bilingual Spanish)
HoursRegular full‑time 40 hours per week, subject to normal school‑year furloughs (furloughs approximately 8 weeks per year)

Neighbor Impact Head Start is a comprehensive early education program serving children and families in Central Oregon. It integrates high-quality pre‑kindergarten education with essential services such as health, nutrition, and family advocacy. Operating across multiple sites, Neighbor Impact Head Start supports social competence, school readiness, and overall well‑being of children from ages three to five.
Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesIn this dynamic position, you will provide technical and health services in support of Early Head Start and Head Start programs. You will play a key role in keeping children healthy by conducting sensory screenings, supporting dental services, monitoring individual classroom health plans, and ensuring children and enrolled pregnant women receive the care they need on time, every time. This role goes beyond the office: you will connect directly with families, helping them access ongoing healthcare and stay on top of well‑child care.
You will work alongside classroom staff and advocates as a trusted partner and resource. When health or developmental concerns arise, you will be the person who helps bridge the gap. On the organizational side, you will manage health data in the Child Plus system, monitor screening and nutrition reports, and maintain immunization and WIC records. Your attention to detail, strong communication skills, and ability to maintain strict confidentiality will be essential every step of the way.
- Associate's degree required, with documented college coursework (two or more classes) or in‑service/CEU training (15 or more hours) in children's health and/or nutrition; or equivalent education or certification may be considered.
- Within 6 months of hire, Level 3 CPR/First Aid Instructor Certification.
- Must have an initial health examination and a periodic re‑examination to ensure that employees do not pose a significant risk to others caused by communicable diseases.
- Regular and consistent in‑person attendance is required.
- Valid driver's license.
- Proof of current auto insurance.
- Regular access to a personal vehicle for use on the job.
- Access to reliable transportation.
- Satisfactory Motor Vehicle Records check.
- Current enrollment in the OR Central Background Registry (C ).
- Within 60 days of hire, Pediatric CPR/First Aid certification is required.
- Certifications must be kept current to remain employed.
- At least one year of experience in an early‑childhood or child‑health setting.
- One year of experience working with families with young children (work, volunteer, or college practicum/internship).
- Bi‑lingual English/Spanish speaker.
- Head Start parent or past parent.
