Job DescriptionThere will be one evaluation teacher leader assigned to each elementary, middle, and high school. Please contact your principal for additional information about this position.
Job SummaryThe evaluation teacher leader position is designed to provide support and assistance toward meeting the performance plan goals at the assigned school. This role may take on different specific responsibilities listed below. The teacher leader will help facilitate each area listed, focus on personal strengths, collaborate with the principal and building teams, and receive training opportunities to further develop leadership skills.
The leader will work with other teacher leaders in the building to lead the work mentioned below.
Each building will hire one evaluation teacher leader for the school year.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Serve as a member of the principal’s school leadership team.
- Lead to create a positive school culture.
- Participate in systemic change and transformations necessary for school improvement and student achievement.
- Participate in leadership development opportunities (e.g., CLT planning, curriculum implementation, Equity Collaborative).
- Effectively communicate with colleagues and stakeholders about leadership meetings, performance plan goals & strategies for achievement.
- Lead and support CLTs: plan meetings with administrative support; track building CLT work and progress; organize and post assessments, calendars, data, progress.
- Attend meetings, trainings, and events outside regular contract day at school and district level.
- Report progress of the team to overseeing administrator and provide data for scorecard and SLGs.
- Assist in school-based initiatives (e.g., RTI, CLTs, Scorecard, instructional practices, attendance, PBIS).
- Availability to attend 1.5 days of on-site training in August to prepare for inservice week.
- Participate in District Equity Collaborative.
- Partner with principal to ensure licensed employees are familiar with professional practice standards.
- Support colleagues with navigation and use of TED.
- Contribute to district evaluation team discussions and plans for enhancing RSD educator effectiveness system.
- Demonstrates a strong depth of knowledge in instructional practice and teaching strategies.
- Demonstrates a commitment to collaborative learning teams to meet student needs.
- Demonstrates a commitment to equitable practices in the classroom.

- Demonstrates strong technical skills (Google Apps for Education & Canvas).
- Demonstrates success in maintaining organizational systems.

- Demonstrates success as a reliable team member.
- Must hold a valid Oregon Teaching License.
- Monthly leadership meetings (scheduled by building) – ~3 hrs each; 10 occurrences per year.
- August Training & Planning Sessions:
Building Leadership Meeting (4 hrs) TBD;
Partners in Practice (4 hrs) Dates TBD, 8:00 AM-12:00 PM. - Partners in Practice Meetings: 5 sessions, 1.5 hrs each (4:15-6:00 PM).
- Various Leadership Duties as directed by building principal, including sub planning, building-level committees, family events.
- Attend evaluation leader meetings with district.
- Total hours approx 59 hrs.
The compensation begins on the October paycheck.
Position Type: Extra-Duty
Salary: $1,876 to $1,989 Stipend
