Central Christian School is seeking a qualified and passionate High School Spanish Teacher to join our faculty for the 2026–2027 school year. This position provides Spanish language instruction for students in grades 9–12 while helping students develop communication skills, cultural awareness, and a broader understanding of God's world through a Christ-centered perspective.
The ideal candidate is a committed Christian educator who loves working with high school students, creates engaging learning experiences, and integrates faith and learning throughout the classroom.
Position SummaryThe High School Spanish Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering Spanish language instruction to students in grades 9–12. The teacher will foster growth in speaking, listening, reading, and writing while promoting cultural understanding and real-world language application.
This position reports to the Director of Secondary Programs and collaborates with faculty, administration, and families to support student success and spiritual growth.
Essential Responsibilities Instruction & Curriculum- Teach Spanish courses to students in grades 9–12.
- Develop student proficiency in speaking, listening, reading, and writing Spanish.
- Create engaging lessons that encourage active participation and communication.
- Incorporate cultural studies and global perspectives into instruction.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, technology tools, and assessments to support student learning.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, grades, and attendance.
- Provide timely feedback to students and families regarding academic performance.
- Establish and maintain a positive, respectful, and productive classroom environment.
- Promote student engagement, responsibility, and academic growth.
- Communicate clear expectations for behavior and academic performance.
- Foster confidence and enthusiasm for language learning.
- Build positive relationships with students and families.
- Support the academic, social, and spiritual development of students.
- Collaborate with administration, student support staff, and colleagues to meet student needs.
- Participate in parent‑teacher conferences and school events.
- Integrate a biblical worldview into instruction and classroom culture.
- Support the mission, vision, and values of Central Christian School.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school-wide activities.
- Maintain professional standards, confidentiality, and ethical conduct.
- Serve as a positive Christian role model for students.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Spanish.
- Ability to teach high school-level Spanish courses.
- Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
- Agreement with and support of the school's Statement of Faith.
- Ability to pass all required background checks.
- Oregon teaching license or ability to obtain one.
- Previous high school teaching experience.
- Experience teaching world language courses.
- Experience in Christian education.
- Experience integrating technology into instruction.
- Ability to move throughout the classroom and campus.
- Ability to supervise students in a variety of educational settings.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, families, and staff.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
