Job Description

There will be three teacher leaders assigned to each middle and high school for the  school year. Please contact your principal for additional information about this position.

JOB SUMMARY

These teacher leader positions are designed to provide support and assistance toward meeting the performance plan goals at the assigned school. The role may include a variety of responsibilities that facilitate collaboration and professional growth among staff, while focusing on personal strengths and contributing to the building’s mission.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Serve as a member of the principal’s school leadership team.
  • Lead to create a positive school culture.
  • Collaboratively plan for 2‑3 PLC meetings per month.
  • Demonstrate and share best teaching practices with others (instructional strategies, model PLCs, teaching demonstrations).
  • Participate in leadership development opportunities (PLC training, instructional analysis, collaborative walk‑throughs, etc.).
  • Act as a leader and facilitator for department‑level and school‑wide PLCs.
  • Deepen understanding of Tier 2 practices (differentiation) and effective feedback strategies (rubrics, feedback, flexible grouping).
  • Receive training on peer‑observation best practices.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and other stakeholders about school leadership meetings, performance plan goals, and achievement strategies.
  • Lead PLC meetings, organize and post assessments, calendars, data, and progress information.
  • Attend meetings, trainings, and events outside of the regular contract day, at both the school and district level.
  • Report team progress to the overseeing administrator and provide data for scorecards and SLGs.
  • Assist with school initiatives such as the RTI process, PLCs, and student engagement best practices.
  • Be available for 1.5 days of on‑site training in August to prepare for the in‑service week (tentative dates August 18 – 22, 2025).
  • Be available for professional development during two scheduled Individual SIWs.
ADDITIONAL OPPORTUNITIES
  • Optional opportunities to attend trainings of interest with sub‑release time.

COMPENSATION

Stipend: $1,989 with PERS, based on an average of 59 hours of additional responsibility; hours are subject to slight changes but will not exceed 59 hours.
