Job Description

There will be one evaluation teacher leader assigned to each elementary, middle and high school. Please contact your principal for additional information about this position.

Job Summary

The evaluation teacher leader position is designed to provide support and assistance toward meeting the performance plan goals at the assigned school. This role may take on different specific responsibilities which are identified below. Individuals that hold a teacher leader position will help facilitate each area listed and will focus on areas that capitalize upon personal strengths while providing input and collaboration with the principal and building teams.

In addition, the teacher leader will have training opportunities to further develop their leadership skills and work with the other teacher leaders in the building to lead the work mentioned below.

Each building will hire one evaluation teacher leader for the 2026‑2027 school year.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Serve as a member of the principal’s school leadership team.
  • Lead to create a positive school culture.
  • Participate in systemic change and transformations necessary for school improvement to benefit students and improve student achievement.
  • Participate in leadership development opportunities (e.g., CLT planning, curriculum implementation, Equity Collaborative) as scheduled.
  • Effectively communicate with colleagues and other stakeholders about school leadership meetings, school performance plan goals, and strategies for achievement.
  • Lead and support CLTs: plan meetings with administrative support; track building CLT work and progress, organize and post assessments, calendars, data, and progress.
  • Attend meetings, trainings, and events outside of regular contract days both in the assigned school and at the district level.
  • Report the progress of the team back to the overseeing administrator and provide data for the school scorecard and SLGs.
  • Assist in school‑based initiatives (e.g., RTI, CLTs, Scorecard, instructional practices, attendance, PBIS).
  • Be available to attend 1½ days of on‑site training in August to help prepare for in‑service week (building and district training – to be scheduled).
  • Participate in District Equity Collaborative.
  • Partner with the principal to ensure licensed employees are familiar with standards of professional practice for licensed educators.
  • Support colleagues with the navigation and use of TED.
  • Contribute to district evaluation team discussions and plans for enhancing the RSD educator effectiveness system.

  • Demonstrates strong technical skills (Google Apps for Education & Canvas).

  • Demonstrates success as a creative problem solver.
  • Facilitates small groups effectively.
  • Is a reliable team member.
  • Must hold a valid Oregon Teaching License.
Hourly Breakdown (Hours are subject to slight changes by building, but not to exceed a total of 59 hours)

Monthly leadership meetings (scheduled by building): approximately 3 times per month (10 hours total).
August Training & Planning Sessions:
Building Leadership Meeting (4 hours, TBD) and Partners in Practice (4 hours, dates in table below; 8:00 AM–12:00 PM).
Partners in Practice Meetings: five 1½‑hour after‑school sessions (4:15–6:00 PM).
Various leadership duties as directed by the building principal (e.g., sub‑planning, building‑level committees, family events).
Attend evaluation leader meetings with district.

Compensation

The compensation begins on the October paycheck.

Position Type: Extra‑Duty
Salary: $1,876 to $1,989 stipend
