Job SummaryThese teacher leader positions are designed to provide support and assistance toward meeting the performance plan goals at the assigned school. Individuals who hold a teacher leader position will facilitate the listed areas, focusing on personal strengths while collaborating with the principal and building teams. The teacher leader will also receive training opportunities to further develop leadership skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Serve as a member of the principal’s school leadership team.
- Create a positive school culture.
- Collaboratively plan 2-3 PLC meetings per month.
- Demonstrate and share best teaching practices, including instructional strategies, model PLCs, and teaching demonstrations.
- Participate in leadership development opportunities (PLC training, planning, instructional analysis, collaborative walk-through/demonstration lessons).
- Lead and facilitate PLCs at the department level and within the school, training others and offering support.
- Develop deeper understanding of Tier 2 practices and effective feedback strategies in the classroom.
- Train on peer observation best practices.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders about school leadership meetings, performance plan goals, and achievement strategies.
- Track PLC work and data, organize and post assessments, calendars, and progress.
- Attend meetings, trainings, and events outside of the regular contract day, both in the assigned school and at the district level.
- Report team progress to the overseeing administrator and provide data for school and department scorecards and SLGs.
- Assist in school initiatives such as the RTI process, PLCs, and student engagement best practices.
- Be available for 1.5 days of on‑site training in August to prepare for in‑service week.
- Attend professional development during two scheduled Individual SIWs.
- Optional opportunities to attend training of interest with sub‑release time.
- Strong depth of knowledge in instructional practice and teaching strategies.

- Valid Oregon Teaching License.
Stipend: $1,876 to $1,989 with PERS, based on 59 hours (as outlined in the Extra Responsibility schedule of the 2024‑25 contract).
Hours are subject to slight changes but will not exceed 59 hours.
If a teacher leader is unable to attend required opportunities, the principal may reassign those hours to a different duty.
