Job Summary
The elementary music educator is the primary instructional delivery person in the music classroom. The educator instructs music classes for students so that they develop a love for music and skills in singing, listening, and music fundamentals. The educator also promotes and supports the integration of music within the regular classroom and collaborates with school team members to provide strategies and support for increasing music and movement in the regular classroom.
The position is demanding, varied, and complex. The educator must be collaborative, a relationship builder, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They must be well trained in providing engaging music content, organizing musical showcases, and skilled in working with early learners.
