Job SummaryThese teacher leader positions are designed to provide support and assistance toward meeting the performance plan goals at the assigned school. Individuals who hold a teacher leader position will help facilitate each area listed below, focusing on areas that capitalize upon personal strengths while providing input and collaboration with the principal and building teams. The teacher leader will have training opportunities to further develop their leadership skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Serve as a member of the principal’s school leadership team.
- Lead to create a positive school culture.
- Collaboratively plan for 2-3 PLC meetings per month.
- Demonstrate and share best teaching practices, including instructional strategies, model PLCs, and teaching demonstrations.
- Participate in leadership development opportunities, such as PLC training, planning, instructional analysis, and collaborative walk-through/demonstration lessons.
- Lead and facilitate PLCs at the department level and within the school, providing training and support to others.
- Develop a deeper understanding of Tier 2 practices (differentiation strategies) and effective feedback strategies (rubrics, feedback, flexible grouping) in the classroom.
- Receive training on peer observation best practices.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders about school leadership meetings, performance plan goals, and strategies for achievement.
- Plan, track, and organize PLC work, data, assessments, calendars, and progress.
- Attend meetings, trainings, and events outside the regular contract day at the school and district level.
- Report progress of the team back to the overseeing administrator and provide data for school and department scorecards and SLGs.
- Assist in school initiatives such as the RTI process, PLCs, and student engagement best practices.
- Attend 1.5 days of on-site training in August to prepare for in-service week (tentatively Aug. 18, 2025) and school-level team building.
- Attend professional development during two scheduled Individual SIWs.
- Optional opportunities to attend trainings of interest with sub-release time.
- Strong depth of knowledge in instructional practice and teaching strategies.

- Strong technical skills (Google Apps for Education & Canvas).

- Valid Oregon Teaching License.
Stipend: $2,116 (includes PERS) for a maximum of 59 hours of extra responsibility.
