THE POSITION
Responsible for the planning, development, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of all fire and EMS training and programs for the District. Also serves as the District Health and Safety Officer, managing the District’s safety committee. The successful candidate will work a 40‑hour week.
COMPENSATION(Exempt/Non‑Represented):
Annual salary $135,672 – $146,856, DOE;
Effective July 1 2026: $141,099 – $152,730; plus a full benefit package.
Mandatory requirements: Minimum of ten (10) years of fire service experience, minimum of three (3) years of experience serving as a Company Officer, minimum of three (3) years of experience leading or managing a fire and/or EMS training division or comprehensive training program, Instructor II, Fire Officer III, EMT or Paramedic license, possession of an Oregon driver’s license within 30 days of hire, Blue Card Instructor (within 6 months of employment).
Any combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position may be considered equivalent.
Desirable requirements: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in fire administration, emergency management, education, or a related field;
Chief Officer experience;
Experience overseeing both fire and EMS training programs with a combination or career fire district;
Experience serving as a District or Agency Safety Officer;
Demonstrated experience with training records and credential management systems.
