We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) 1 to join our team. As a DSP, you will provide essential support to individuals with developmental disabilities or other special needs, promoting independence and enhancing the quality of life for those in your care. This position requires a strong commitment to ensuring the well-being, safety, and empowerment of those you serve.
Locations:We actively serve clients across the Central Oregon region in Deschutes and Crook Counties (Prineville, Redmond and Bend metro regions), which continues to expand based on individuals served. We currently have MULTIPLE openings for both FULL and PART-TIME positions.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Follow behavior support plans.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering positive relationships and enhancing their quality of life.
- Encourage and support clients in developing life skills and achieving personal goals.
- Ensure the safety and security of clients in all activities, including during transportation and outings.
- Maintain accurate records of services provided, client progress, and any incidents or changes in client status.
- Collaborate with the client’s family, support team, and healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care and support.
- Participate in training and professional development to stay current with best practices in the field of support services.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in direct care, healthcare, or a similar field is a plus, but not required.
- Must be patient, empathetic, and passionate about helping others.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift and assist clients as needed.
- Must pass background check.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation may be required for certain positions.
