Overview
Position Summary
What you'll do:
Leads and develops teams by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates; touring stores and providing feedback; communicating and collaborating with all levels of associates regarding store operations, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction. Introduces and leads company change efforts; provides clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions and communicate business objectives to teams. Models exceptional customer service standards by following and demonstrating the One Best Way (OBW) service model;
manages and supports customer service initiatives such as store community engagement and outreach programs; ensures customer needs and issues are resolved; develops and implements action plans to correct deficiencies; provides process-improvement leadership to ensure a high-quality customer experience. Drives financial performance and sales for the designated store area by reviewing P&L statements, budgeting, forecasting, and controlling expenses; ensures alignment to sales, inventory flow, and operational processes;
develops and implements action plans to mitigate shrink and achieve sales and profit goals. Provides supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates through hiring, training, mentoring, setting clear expectations, and recognizing performance; fosters a belonging mindset; recruits and develops qualified associates to meet staffing needs and growth potential.
- Coordinate, complete, and oversee job-related activities by developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders; support plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs.
- Identify and communicate goals and objectives; build accountability; measure progress and address improvement opportunities; promote continuous learning.
- Provide supervision and development opportunities for associates by hiring, training, mentoring, and assigning duties; promote a belonging workplace culture.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and ethics; support the Open Door Policy; provide guidance on applying policies in business processes.
- Foster a culture of inclusion and integrity; model Walmart values; promote a regenerative company mindset by reducing waste and supporting community initiatives.
- Serve customers by applying EDLP/EDLC principles; make data-driven decisions; balance short- and long-term priorities for the benefit of customers, associates, shareholders, partners, and communities.
- Strive for excellence: encourage learning, take calculated risks, demonstrate resilience, and drive continuous improvement; support adoption of new technologies and skills.
- Minimum Qualifications:
2 years of college; OR 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; OR 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience. - For facilities selling firearms: successful completion of a firearms-specific CBC and firearms training; for facilities selling only ammunition: may require a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility.
- Associates must attend and complete job-required trainings (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings).
- Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership or related Live Better U program; leadership experience supervising 5+ direct reports including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.

OtherThe hourly wage range for this position is $31.25 - $38.46; actual rate will meet or exceed applicable minimum wage. Additional compensation may include bonuses and location-based pay differentials. State pay differentials may apply where required by law.
