The Quality Technician supports the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of Fuel Safe’s Quality Management System. This role helps manage fabrication documentation and quality processes for assigned programs, working closely with the management team to ensure product and process requirements are met.
This position performs inspections and evaluations across in-process work, incoming supplier parts, and inbound materials to verify conformance to drawings, order requirements, and specifications. The Quality Technician also supports nonconforming material control, calibration management, and prototype evaluation activities.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, communicates professionally, and can prioritize multiple tasks while working effectively with limited supervision.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Analyze material or product for dimensional accuracy, correct orientation, and defects;
- Perform inspections of in-process orders against order information and/or drawings;
- Perform inspections and tests of suppliers’ parts prior to being received into inventory;
- Analyze inbound fabrics to verify proper specifications prior to release to production;
- Administer the nonconforming material procedure and lead the MRB process/board;
- Manage the calibration function;
- Work with Engineering to evaluate and monitor prototype items; oversee fabrication, training, documentation, and quality requirements;
- Evaluate customer bladders for repair;
- Initiate Engineering Change Requests to resolve inadequate or conflicting drawing information;
- Follow all safety procedures, wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and report any accidents or near misses to a supervisor immediately;
- Other duties as assigned.
- Technical knowledge of fuel containment system manufacturing (preferred)
- Mechanical aptitude with ability to understand mechanical drawings
- Ability to learn products and processes
- Ability to learn applicable computer software
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work with limited supervision
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with internal and external customers
- High degree of interpersonal skills
