Job Description
The Quality Assurance Technician supports BASX's commitment to delivering high-quality HVAC products by performing inspections, tests, and audits throughout the manufacturing process. This entry‑level role ensures that components and finished units meet internal and external standards. The technician works closely with production teams to identify defects and recommend corrective actions. Attention to detail and a strong understanding of quality principles are essential.
PrimaryDuties
- Conduct inspections of incoming materials, in‑process components, and finished products to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Document inspection results and maintain accurate records in accordance with company standards.
- Report non‑conformances and assist in root‑cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues and improve processes.
- Use measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and multimeters to verify product dimensions and performance.
- Support internal audits and participate in quality training sessions.
- Ensure compliance with BASX's quality management system and applicable industry standards.
- Promote a culture of quality and accountability on the production floor.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Technical training or coursework in quality assurance, manufacturing, or HVAC systems is preferred.
- Basic understanding of quality control principles and inspection techniques.
- Familiarity with mechanical and electrical components used in HVAC systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Basic computer skills, including data entry and use of Microsoft Office.
- Or any combination of education and experience that provides an equivalent background.
- Consistent focus, precision, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Physical demands include standing for long periods, walking between workstations, and handling small tools and components.
- Identify defects and inconsistencies in products.
- Operate inspection tools and equipment with manual dexterity.
- Use visual acuity for detailed inspections and reading technical documents.
- Lift up to 30 lbs occasionally and work in a fast‑paced environment.
The Quality Assurance Technician works in a manufacturing setting with exposure to HVAC equipment, moderate noise levels, and varying temperatures. PPE is required in designated areas. The role may involve rotating shifts and occasional overtime based on production needs.
