Position Summary
The Quality Engineering Technician supports the Quality, Engineering, and Operations teams by developing practical solutions, conducting process audits, and assisting with corrective actions. This role combines hands‑on manufacturing support with technical skills such as 3D printing and CAD design to improve tooling, inspection, and production efficiency.
The position also plays a key role in ensuring compliance to work instructions and procedures through routine floor audits, while supporting Quality Engineering with administrative and documentation tasks.
Key Responsibilities Manufacturing Floor Quality Audits- Perform daily process and compliance audits on the manufacturing floor.
- Verify that operators are following approved work instructions, procedures, and quality requirements.
- Document audit findings clearly and accurately.
- Communicate audit results to supervisors, engineering, and quality teams.
- Collect and analyze data to identify trends and work with cross‑functional teams to determine proper corrective actions.
- Assist with investigation of audit findings and nonconformances.
- Support root cause analysis using structured problem‑solving methods.
- Help implement and verify effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions.
- Track and follow up on open issues to ensure timely closure.
- Design and develop fixtures, tooling, visual aids, and problem‑solving solutions using CAD software.
- Support production and quality teams through rapid prototyping using 3D printing technology.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations to improve manufacturability and inspection methods.
- Modify and maintain existing CAD models and drawings as needed.
- Assist quality engineers with data collection, reporting, and analysis.
- Support maintenance and organization of quality records and documentation.
- Help prepare reports, presentations, and customer‑related documentation as needed.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives across quality and operations.
- Work closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to improve processes and compliance.
- Provide practical, shop‑floor‑focused solutions to quality and operational challenges.
- Promote a culture of quality awareness and accountability within the organization.
- Associate’s degree in Engineering or related field required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, preferably in aerospace or casting.
- Experience with CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, AutoCAD, or similar).
- Basic understanding of quality principles and manufacturing processes.
- Strong technical writing skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions, drawings, and procedures.
- Experience with 3D printing technologies.
- Familiarity with aerospace quality standards (e.g., AS9100).
- Experience performing audits or quality inspections.
- Knowledge of root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies.

This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)).
