Rental Consultant

Overview

Peterson Cat has a need for a Rental Consultant based at our Redmond, OR location. The primary purpose of this position is to increase Peterson Cat's revenue and market share by renting and selling equipment. This is accomplished by making sales calls on the current customer base and prospecting for new customers in the territory. The role requires being away from the employer’s place of business more than 50% of the time to interact with customers at their locations and/or job sites.

• Achieve Rental Sales Quota and drive defined business results for the territory.
• Make an average of 10–15 outbound sales calls per day, including office and jobsite visits.
• Open 3 new accounts per quarter.
• Develop and follow a daily/weekly/monthly call route and strategy to maintain and prospect business within the territory.
• Identify and strategize for capturing business with key conquest opportunities within the territory.
• Harvest and execute on leads weekly from sources such as Sales Link, Dodge, CDC, and other assigned sources.
• Fulfill management requests for information and assistance, including collection activities.
• Ensure the top 150 customers in the territory are assigned in Sales Link (CRM); record all daily activities by 8:00 AM the following day.
• Keep all customer profiles current in Sales Link (CRM) and ensure assigned customers are seen at least once per month.
• Follow up on all leads and opportunities promptly.
• Participate in on-call duties on a rotational basis per schedule.
• Travel to branch locations and visit customers as needed; drive company or personal vehicle as required.
• Collaborate with other Peterson business groups to support the overall success of Peterson.
• Complete required training as scheduled by the Sales Manager and comply with safety policies.
• Maintain a professional appearance as outlined in company policies.

Associates Degree from a fully accredited college in a related field is preferred; and a minimum of 3 years of sales experience, preferably in a heavy industrial environment; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
