This opening is for a candidate with a minimum of 3 years of A&P Mechanic experience, with at least 1 year of experience working with Shorts 360 (SD3-60) aircraft or Sherpa aircraft. Documented experience or training in Pratt and Whitney PT6A-65AR engine also required.

ACC is working in partnership with the U.S. Forest Service (USFS) to maintain their Sherpa aircraft at the RDM airport base in Oregon. As an A&P Mechanic, you will be able to apply your A&P License, education and aviation maintenance work experience to a team dedicated to maintenance of the aircraft that keep the U.S. Forest Service firefighters safe and secure for their missions.
This position is located in the mountains of Oregon, an outdoor lover’s paradise with commuting options, including the popular skiing area of Bend. Picturesque views surround a well maintained and equipped hangar.
Some relocation assistance may be provided for this position.
Shift1st Shift, 5 day work week – Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Some weekend/overtime work will be required, as directed by the USFS. Travel may be involved to other USFS bases, as directed.
Compensation / Benefits- Starting rate of pay: $40.00 to $45.00 per hour

- Work independently to inspect, repair aircraft, engines, components, systems; assess for damage, condition and method of repair
- Ability to work off site at outlying locations
- Follow FAA federal aviation regulations pertaining to the maintenance and repair of aircraft, engines and airframe systems
- Work with the Lead Mechanic and USFS employees to resolve problems
- Review aircraft status sheet to accomplish aircraft maintenance IAW the aircraft’s maintenance program and applicable technical publications
- Perform routine schedule maintenance and inspection of aircraft
- Read and interpret aircraft maintenance manuals
- Complete all necessary electronic record keeping
- Perform emergency/unscheduled repairs to minimize aircraft downtime
- Troubleshoot and conduct electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and power plant issues
- Install electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and structural components and accessories, using hand and power tools
- Be a team player, work together in a group to accomplish projects
- Candidate must hold an FAA 14 CFR 65 Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certificate
- A valid U.S. Driver’s License is required
- 3 years of A&P Mechanic experience
- 1 year minimum of experience working with Shorts 360 (SD3-60) aircraft
- Skilled in all phases of aircraft maintenance, including the ability to rig, function test and troubleshoot SD3-60 systems
- Self-starters with the ability to work well with others
- Successful completion of a background check and pre-employment 5-panel drug test
