Job SummaryThe Accounting Assistant supports the Accounting team with day-to-day transactional activities, with a primary focus on accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions. This role ensures accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and customer transactions while maintaining strong internal controls and supporting month-end close activities. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to contribute to a growing accounting team in a fast-paced, regulated manufacturing environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesAccounts Payable (AP):
Support the AP team with a variety of activities to include:
Process vendor invoices, ensuring proper coding, approvals, and compliance with company policies
Manage vendor records, including onboarding and W-9 collection
Prepare and process weekly payment runs (ACH, check, wire)
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
Respond to vendor inquiries in a timely and professional manner
Accounts Receivable (AR). Support the AR team with a variety of activities to include:
Generate and distribute customer invoices
Apply customer payments and reconcile AR balances
Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding invoices
Support credit and collections activities
Maintain accurate customer account records
General Accounting Support

Assist with month-end close, including journal entries and account reconciliations
Support audit requests by gathering documentation and schedules
Maintain organized and audit-ready financial records
Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
Assist with process improvements and system enhancements as needed
Qualifications2+ years of accounting, AP/AR, or bookkeeping experience
Associate’s degree in Accounting preferred (will accept relevant work experience)
Strong understanding of basic accounting principles
Experience with ERP systems
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs a plus)
