Job Summary
A Business Manager responsible for leading a group of planners within the Eventions Team, supporting all logistics and operational activities role ensures team readiness, deliverables, and service level agreements, and manages client relationships and stakeholder coordination.
Salary: $95,/year
Pay Grade: 14
Essential Functions and Responsibilities- Partner with global stakeholders across Eventions and other segments and maintain strong knowledge of the various programs to ensure cohesion and customization as needed.
- Develop and propose operational processes and procedures by analyzing business needs and goals at a daily program and operational level, and maintain role‑specific documentation, including email templates, training manuals, and SharePoint sites.
- Initiate and execute strategic planning to keep pace with industry growth, the number of supported sites, and evolving customer and stakeholder needs.
- Maintain top‑quality hospitality vendors and establish efficient processes to ensure consistent and seamless experiences for guests (technical assistance, catering, transportation, interpretation, dinner reservations, furniture changes, etc.).
- Manage high‑level non‑briefing events and projects, ensuring all necessary logistical arrangements are made to support the event (space planning, coordinating vendor services including catering, A/V, etc.).
- Organize and manage updates of key information and resources in One Note and SharePoint, sharing updates with the team and stakeholders as needed.
- Thoroughly understand internal tools and reporting features, acting as the team liaison for all questions, concerns, and new feature requests.
- Nurture long‑term relationships among clients, stakeholders, and vendor teams, fostering a strong team alliance and driving collaboration across centers.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
- Manage the Planner Teams, overseeing day‑to‑day support and service levels.
- Responsible for the staffing plan, including interviewing, hiring, transferring, termination, payroll, scheduling, and backup plans.
- Onboard and train new planners and provide awareness training for other teams.
- Perform all talent‑management functions for the department, including onboarding readiness, performance monitoring and management, KPI establishment, and performance appraisals.
- Ensure inventory, metrics, and reporting are tracked and calculated efficiently for business reviews with leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Office Suite and up‑to‑date on Microsoft industry trends.
- Ability to learn new tools and software quickly.
- 3‑5 years of experience in customer service.
- 3 years of experience planning executive events; experience planning several high‑level business events (product releases, trade shows, conferences, etc.).
- Event‑planning certification (CMP or CSEP) is a plus.
- Extremely professional and client focused, with the ability to interact with all levels of business clients.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and customer‑service skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Process‑oriented, organized, and detail‑focused, yet flexible.
- Self‑motivated and able to thrive in a strategic, fast‑paced environment.
- Independent yet a team player, able to follow guidelines and exercise sound judgment.
- Comfortable communicating with a global community across various cultures and languages.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
