Redmond, WA

SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.

As a member of the Starlink facilities team in Redmond, you will apply your knowledge, experience, and creativity to help the organization achieve the highest level of operational excellence across its manufacturing and office facilities. This role focuses on building the processes, systems, and tools that enable the team to operate more efficiently and effectively.

You will serve as an adaptable problem solver who owns process development end‑to‑end, manages data and dashboards, drives continuous improvement, and supports facilities initiatives. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast‑paced environment, is comfortable jumping between strategic business intelligence work and operational execution, and is not afraid to try new things or take on new projects independently.

Responsibilities
  • Develop internal visual standards for internal work boards, JIRA queuing, PowerBI dashboards, and department workflow
  • Support department continuous improvement projects such as new process rollouts/standardization and facilities initiatives
  • Define and develop department‑level metrics & associated dashboards that quantify the health of our operations and influence change
  • Conduct in‑depth analyses through SQL queries and other data analysis methods to dive into problems and identify trends for decision making
  • Create reports, tools, and standardized metrics for operational measurements and improvements
  • Develop automation that mitigates business risk or creates efficiencies within the team
  • Implement tools (software or hardware) to reduce wasted effort by engineers and techs
  • Take on new projects ad‑hoc as the business needs
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline
  • 2+ years of experience working in engineering, operations, manufacturing or facilities management (internship experience qualifies)
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Experience with Excel, SQL, or Python
  • Proficiency with data analysis, data visualization, and cost‑benefit analysis
  • Experience with CAD software, Power BI, and JIRA
  • Experience driving cross‑functional product/tool/process improvement efforts
  • Experience leading or contributing to construction or facilities projects (office buildouts, TI work, or infrastructure)
  • Experience building reporting tools using SQL, Python, Power BI, Tableau, or similar
  • Experience with Lean principles and structured problem‑solving methodologies
  • Willingness to learn project management skills and take on new projects independently
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑stress environment
  • Excellent written and communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate with and influence stakeholders in higher‑level leadership
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing, supply chain, or production environment
Additional Requirements
  • Must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed, including occasional short‑notice domestic travel
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted
