3+ years of Product Management, Payroll Transformation, or HR Technology delivery experience

Role Overview

We are looking for a Technical Product Manager to support US Payroll and Time initiatives. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience working with payroll systems, analyzing data fields and requirements, translating business needs into technical user stories, and coordinating delivery across business, engineering, vendor, and offshore teams.

This role requires strong payroll domain understanding, technical analysis skills, Agile delivery experience, Azure Dev Ops (or similar tool) backlog management, and the ability to drive execution in a fast-paced environment.

Must-Have Skills

  • Experience in US Payroll, Time & Attendance, HRIS, or Payroll Transformation projects.
  • Hands-on experience analyzing system data fields, payroll/time data flows, integrations, and business requirements.
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements, ADO features, user stories, acceptance criteria, and definitions of done.
  • Experience with payroll or HR platforms such as ADP, EY Digipay, SAP Payroll, Success Factors Employee Central, Workday, Dayforce, UKG/Kronos, or similar systems.
  • Strong experience with Agile delivery, sprint planning, backlog grooming, feature readiness, UAT coordination, release planning, and delivery tracking.
  • Ability to coordinate with vendors, offshore teams, engineering teams, Payroll Operations, People Operations, and business stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of payroll ecosystem dependencies across HRIS, Time, Benefits, Payroll Operations, integrations, reporting, and downstream systems.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, documentation, and executive reporting skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and prioritize the US Payroll and Time product backlog across multiple delivery waves.
  • Create and manage detailed ADO features, user stories, acceptance criteria, dependencies, and definitions of done.
  • Translate Payroll, Time, People Operations, and business requirements into clear technical requirements for engineering and vendor teams.
  • Drive sprint planning, backlog grooming, feature readiness reviews, UAT planning, release planning, and production readiness activities.
  • Perform end-to-end testing coordination and validation across payroll/time data, integrations, business rules, and system outputs.
  • Manage risks, issues, dependencies, change requests, RAID logs, decision logs, and weekly backlog status reporting.
  • Coordinate closely with vendors, offshore teams, engineering, Payroll Operations, People Operations, and business stakeholders to ensure timely delivery.
  • Support governance meetings including backlog reviews, sprint ceremonies, pulse checks, leadership reviews, Steer Cos, MBRs, and QBRs.
  • Drive continuous improvement by reducing aged backlog, improving payroll operational efficiency, reducing manual effort, and addressing technical debt.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with US payroll operations, payroll compliance, payroll processing, timekeeping, or payroll support functions.
  • Experience working on HRIS, Time & Attendance, Benefits, Payroll, and integration-related projects.
  • Experience with large-scale payroll platform migrations, HR transformation programs, or multinational payroll environments.
  • Experience working with technical teams to define and design solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of Azure Dev Ops, Jira, Confluence, or similar backlog and delivery management tools.
