- Instructional Assistant: Assists teaching staff by completing instructional tasks and maintaining an orderly classroom to provide a positive learning environment. May be assigned to classroom, lunchroom, library, before or after school academic programs, or office. At elementary level, assignment includes crossing guard and playground duties. May be assigned to an individual student or work with entire classroom.
- Office Professional (Health Room): Primary responsibility is to oversee the Health Room and supervision and monitoring of students referred for illness which may include the administration of first aid that falls within normal procedures. The incumbent may be delegated responsibility for administration of medication(s) to appropriate students by the School Nurse in compliance with State law and District policy. When not performing Health Room duties, the position performs clerical and secretarial duties as assigned and may support building, department, or administrative staff.
All general administrative support positions are expected to perform common office procedures such as answering phones, providing information and customer service, word processing or data entry, and maintaining records while maintaining confidentiality. All employees are expected to contribute to keeping the office functioning effectively and efficiently.
Hourly Rate: Instructional Assistant: $26.77/hour ) wage. Position is eligible for membership in the Service Employees International Union No. 925.
Health Room / School Office Professional: $31.62 ) wage. Position is eligible for membership in the Lake Washington Education Support Professionals.
- Instructional Assistants: Must hold an Associate degree (AA) or higher OR have completed two years of study equivalent to 72 college quarter credit hours OR have passed an Educational Testing Service Para Pro Assessment documenting a score of 455 or higher OR have passed the Pearson Paraprofessional Assessment with a score of 220 or higher. Official documentation will be required upon hire.
Must pass criminal background check.
- School Office Professionals: High school diploma or equivalent required; two years job related education and/or experience.

If the start date for this position is February 1 or later, this position for Instructional Assistant will be School Year Only. The contract will end at the conclusion of the current school year. Depending on staffing needs, hires may be offered an additional role after continuing staff have been placed for the school year.
