Position: High School French Teacher (0.2 FTE) Eastlake High School - Leave Replacement

Eastlake High School is seeking a compassionate, collaborative, and committed French Language educator to join our faculty for a 0.2 FTE Leave Replacement French Teacher position for the 2026‑2027 school year. Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement engaging, standards‑based lessons in French.
  • Cultivate a supportive, inclusive classroom culture where all students feel safe, valued, and empowered to learn.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues to plan curriculum, align assessments, and support school‑wide goals.
  • Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and tailor instruction to individual needs.
  • Build strong, caring relationships with students, promoting both academic and personal growth.
  • Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff to maintain a positive learning environment.

Embrace and model the Eastlake credo in daily interactions and professional conduct.

Qualifications

Washington State teaching certificate with French and Spanish endorsement.

Required
  • Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate with a Spanish Language endorsement and a French Language endorsement.
  • A deep commitment to student‑centered teaching, inclusion, and equity.
  • Strong collaboration skills and a team‑oriented mindset.
  • A passion for language education and meaningful student relationships.
Preferred
  • Experience working with high school students (ages 14–19).
  • Experience teaching in a proficiency‑based language classroom.
  • Enthusiasm for contributing to a school culture where everyone feels at home.
Salary

Paid per teacher salary schedule with base contract plus additional contracts for LEAP days, and responsibility. Additional technology stipend and professional fund. See LWEA salary schedule posted on the website. Full benefit package available for employees working a minimum of 630 hours during the school year.

FLSA Status:
Exempt.
