Position Description
- This is a full-time, salary exempt, and required live-in role
- The Coordinator of Residence Life & Student Experience position is anticipated to primarily support Housing and Residence Life (75%), with additional responsibilities in Student Engagement (25%). Overall duties will include programming and supervising of onsite Resident Advisors, operational duties, and on-call rotations; as well as advising the Dragon Activities Board, communications, and New Student Orientation support.
Responsibilities of CRL (75%)
- Residential Advisor (RA) programming & supervision
- Primary supervision of 10 to 15 RA staff
- Oversee weekly RA reports, event proposals and purchase approvals, budget management
- Hold monthly or bi-weekly 1:1’s with each RA staff member
- Event management on Campus Groups
- Assist in the execution of annual RA training and monthly training sessions with the AD and Director of Residence Life
- Serve as the primary individual responsible for executing residential experience through residential programming, community-wide events, and other departmental initiatives.
- Operational Duties
- Assist in the opening and closing of housing units at semester and academic year closing
- Assist in ensuring that maintenance and facility needs are resolved
- Oversee the implementation and distribution of a monthly housing newsletter for residents across the complexes in the program
- Attend weekly Residence Life meetings with the full professional team.
- Provide support for academic year and summer operations within Housing & Residence Life.
- Serve on call rotation – In rotation with two or more staff members to provide support to students after hours.
Responsibilities of Student Engagement (25%)
- Advise the Dragon Activities Board (DAB)
- Attend weekly meetings
- Supervise DAB Leaders (student role)
- Manage DAB budget, purchase requests, etc.
- Support at DAB evening events, when necessary
- Support at large-scale weekend and evening events, when necessary
- LAN Party (fall/spring), Halloween Carnival, Digi Formal, etc.
- Communications (support)
- DPTP, Calendars, Teams posts, etc.
- New Student Orientation (support)
- Serve on the NSO Steering Committee and support the Director of Engagement with New Student Orientation planning and execution
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Required
- Master’s degree considered an asset –or- graduate study preferred but not required
Salary and Benefits:
- Housing (Monthly rent and utilities totaling about $32,000/year)
- Salary of $57, and benefits.
