Our client, a leading technology organization specializing in media and codec solutions, is seeking a dedicated Senior Media Systems Engineer – Codec Telemetry & Validation to join their innovative team. As a Senior Media Systems Engineer – Codec Telemetry & Validation, you will be part of the Codec and Media Engineering department supporting telemetry, validation, and codec pipeline projects. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, collaborative spirit, and a passion for advancing media technology, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Senior Media Systems Engineer – Codec Telemetry & Validation

Location: Redmond, WA - Onsite

Pay Range: $64.23 - $70.66 on Experis W2 (Benefits/PTO/401k)

• Design and implement telemetry events, schemas, and probes across codec pipelines to enhance data collection and analysis.
• Expand telemetry granularity for advanced profiles and configuration variations to improve system insights.
• Build and augment dashboards that reveal regression patterns, reliability issues, and performance characteristics.
• Author and extend HLK tests for HEVC and AV1 encoder validation to ensure robust media pipeline performance.
• Collaborate with codec engineering, HLK teams, and hardware partners to close coverage gaps and improve driver readiness.

• Strong experience in telemetry and observability, including designing event schemas, metrics, and dashboards.
• Deep understanding of H.264, HEVC, and AV1 encoding & decoding behaviors, media pipelines, and color formats.
• Experience with HLK (Hardware Lab Kit) test authoring and driver certification workflows.
• Excellent analytical problem-solving skills to identify patterns and propose improvements based on telemetry data.
• Ability to work effectively across teams, including codec engineers, validation teams, and hardware partners.
