Civil Engineer

Overview

Our client, an engineering and renewable energy, water, and environmental firm, is seeking a Mid Level Civil Engineer to support civil site design and project delivery from concept through construction. This role involves erosion and sediment control, stormwater management, and civil design using AutoCAD Civil 3D, with close collaboration alongside senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams. Candidates must hold a BS in Civil Engineering (or related field), an active EIT, and have experience supporting engineering design and construction activities.

Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is required, with preference for 4+ years of civil engineering experience, site development exposure, and familiarity with specifications, cost estimating, and hydraulic or GIS tools.
This full-time position is located in Redmond, WA.

Pay Rate: $80,000 - $120,000/year

• Collaborate with a multi?disciplinary team of engineers, scientists, data analysts, and licensing experts to develop civil designs and provide construction support for dam removals, embankment dam repairs, fish passage facilities, stream restoration, recreation facilities, and renewable energy projects
• Support all phases of project delivery, working under senior staff from conceptual design through issued?for?bid construction drawings
• Assist with civil site design tasks related to hydraulic fish passage, slope and embankment protection, stream channel design, and dam decommissioning projects
• Participate in site visits and field data collection to support design development and engineering analysis
• Perform engineering calculations and analysis to support design decisions and project execution
• Prepare and modify design documents using CAD software and support spatial analysis or data processing using GIS tools
• Review and apply hydraulic modeling results in support of design development
• Contribute to the preparation of technical specifications, reports, and other project documentation
• Support innovative, data?driven solutions that advance renewable energy and environmental restoration objectives

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification, or clearly on track to obtain
• Experience with erosion and sediment control and stormwater management design
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, including producing and modifying design drawings
• Prior exposure to engineering design and construction support tasks
• Ability to support plans, calculations, site layouts, and field coordination
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for site visits and field work
• Permanent authorization to work in the United States
• 4+ years of progressive experience in civil engineering
• Direct project experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D to advance design, including alignments, profiles, corridors, grading, and civil basemap development using public data sources
• Experience developing and reviewing drawings, notes, typical details, material schedules, and quantity takeoffs
• Familiarity with CSI standard specifications format and content
• Experience with AACE cost estimation classes and preparation of Opinions of Probable Construction Cost (OPCC)
• Prior experience in civil site development for roadways and drainage, land development, dam decommissioning or removal, stream restoration, and/or fish passage engineering
• Experience with ArcGIS, HEC RAS, SRH2D, HEC HMS, and/or HydroCAD
• Ability to work under the direction of senior engineers across multiple design phases
• Comfortable collaborating within multi disciplinary project teams
• Willingness to balance office based design work with field support
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment, with in office presence 2–3 days per week
