X is hiring an Automation Engineer (Starlink Customer Success). Space
X is actively developing technologies to enable human life on Mars and is deploying Starlink, the world’s most advanced broadband internet system. Starlink provides fast, reliable internet to millions of users worldwide. We design, build, test, and operate all parts of the system, and we are seeking engineers and analysts to accelerate growth globally.
- Build and maintain high-quality automation to support Starlink’s customer base, market launches, and customer experience improvements
- Build alerts and monitoring for current automation systems
- Manage requests and stakeholders in a scalable way
- Own the status of automation, reporting on health and metrics (e.g., credits issued)
- Collaborate with engineering and business teams to migrate automation to website-integrated solutions when appropriate
- Design measurable and well-scoped experiments
- Write and maintain high-quality documentation
- Collaborate with cross-functional Customer Success Category leads, workforce planners, and operators to develop automated solutions for customer experience and support challenges
- Provide updates to leadership on automation performance and opportunities
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering, mathematics, or STEM discipline
- 1+ years of experience in engineering, software, data analytics, venture capital, management consulting, or operations/product management at a technology company
- 3+ years of experience with Python
- Master’s degree in Business or STEM field
- Expertise in SQL and Python
- Understanding of database structures, query optimization, ETL development
- Experience with automation (e.g., VBA, Python, C#, etc.)
- Experience in startup, consulting, tech, or other high-growth environments
- Strong project management and self-directed prioritization skills
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences at all levels
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships across disciplines and management levels
- Must be available to work extended hours and weekends as needed
- Willingness to travel to corporate customer sites, other Space
X locations, and industry events as needed
Pay Range:
Operations (Automations) Engineer/Level I: $95,000 - $115,000 per year
Operations (Automations) Engineer/Level II: $110,000 - $130,000 per year
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge, education, and experience.
Base salary is one part of the total rewards package. You may be eligible for stock or options, discretionary bonuses, and a 401(k) plan. You will also receive medical, vision, and dental coverage, and other benefits, including paid leave, vacation, holidays, and sick time as applicable by law. Space
X shuttles may be available from select Seattle locations to the Redmond office.
