New Graduate Engineer, Electrical - Satellites (Starlink) – Redmond, WA

As an Electrical Design Engineer on Starlink, you’ll own the end-to-end hardware lifecycle that enables connectivity, sitting at the intersection of electrical, mechanical, thermal analysis, software, and antenna/RF engineering. Challenges range from high-speed digital communications, analog, network system integration, power electronics, avionics, RF devices, and test automation.
Your placement on sub-teams will be determined during the interview process and may include, but is not limited to:
Responsibilities- Rapidly develop high-reliability electronics for satellites and spacecraft.
- Drive system trades, requirements capture, component selection, schematic capture, PCB layout, prototyping, hardware bring-up, debugging, documentation, manufacturing, test, and on-orbit performance of complex electrical designs.
- Get hands-on and support hardware through production, satellite integration, and flight.
- Collaborate with engineers from adjacent disciplines (mechanical, thermal, software, test engineering, supply chain, silicon design, etc.) to deliver integrated, high-performance hardware.
- Challenge assumptions, question requirements, and approach problems with an open mind.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics, or another STEM discipline.
- 1+ years of experience designing/analyzing circuits, electronic products, or hardware (internships/co-ops and club projects welcome).
- Graduating in Spring 2026 or Summer 2026.
- Electronic product experience designing hardware from concept through production; emphasis on full life-cycle development.
- Experience designing and implementing mixed-signal boards using processors, FPGAs, Ethernet, Serdes, DRAM interfaces (DDR4), I2C, SPI, RF/mm, op-amps, ADC/DAC, and power supply components.
- Experience testing, troubleshooting, and debugging electronics.
- Strong understanding of computers and programming languages (Python, C/C++).
- Demonstrated ability to work in a highly cross-functional role.
- Experience working on space-grade hardware.
- Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
Pay range:
Electrical Design Engineer/Level I: $ - $ per year.
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge, education, and experience.
Base salary is part of the total rewards package, which may include stock options, bonuses, comprehensive medical/vision/dental coverage, a 401(k) plan, disability and life insurance, paid parental leave, vacation, holidays, and other benefits. Space
X also offers shuttles from select Seattle locations to the Redmond office.
