Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: Mechanical Engineer - Finite Element Analysis (FEA)

Work with Reliability Engineers to plan and perform Finite Element Analysis using Abaqus/Ansys. Collect problem inputs and requirements and create report based on the results of such analysis. Propose design/process modifications based on the analysis results.

The candidate should be competent in taking a design database, mesh it appropriately and conduct analysis independently. The candidate should be familiar with material models, element types and characteristics, and have good experience in choosing the right boundary and/or initial conditions. The candidate should have a strong proven track record of doing such analysis.

Typically, run following types of simulations:

  • Drop and vibration modeling.
  • Thermal and thermo-mechanical performance.
  • Assembly process simulation with varying stress states.
  • Implement global-local modelling techniques.
  • Conduct Design of Experiments (DOE) and sensitivity analyses by varying dimensions of parts in assemblies
  • Constitutive modeling:
Fit parameters of experimental data to available material models. If needed, identify and execute specific materials characterization tests.
  • A deep understanding in mechanics, thermal engineering, simulation methodologies
  • Degree in Mechanical engineering, Applied Mechanics, or related field
  • Minimum 3 years hands on experience in the following areas
    • Abaqus, Ansys, CREO, Hyper Mesh
    • Mechanics of materials
    • Stress analysis, failure theories
    • Experimental Property Characterization - polymer, metal
    • Linear and non-linear finite element analysis (FEA), especially shock and drop
  • Familiar with experimental techniques for stress/strain analysis.
  • Health Insurance
  • Paid Time Off
  • 401(k)

Pay Range
