Harvey Nash USA has been engaged to find a talented Hardware Lab Technician for an Enterprise Tech Client.
Main ResponsibilityThe purpose of this team is supporting development of custom compute and AI hardware for data centers.
This role will contribute to taking hands‑on measurements of pre‑production engineering samples of hardware to help drive the development of hardware and get it ready for manufacturing.
The role will consist of- Work in the lab collecting VNA and/or scope data.
- Prepare systems for measurement.
- Some soldering/rework is required.

This role provides the opportunity to work onsite in a large lab, helping develop hardware that is very important for data centers.
Top 3 Hard Skills Required + Years of ExperienceThis position is for a lab technician/engineer to take measurements on AI and compute platforms.
Position Responsibilities- Execute Vector Network Analyzer (VNA) measurements on test boards and engineering validation boards for the validation of interconnect performance.
- Assemble systems or test fixtures as needed to prepare for measurements.
- Add instrumentation to devices/boards under test to enable high precision measurements.
- Some soldering may be necessary to prepare boards for measurement.
- Previous work experience as an Engineering Technician.
- Experience making electrical measurements on circuit boards, such as oscilloscope measurements, time domain reflectometry measurements (TDR), or vector network analyzer (VNA) measurements.
- Experience assembling computer systems or other complex electrical systems.
- Experience soldering and unsoldering components on circuit boards.
- Direct experience making vector network analyzer (VNA) measurements for the verification of high-speed interconnect performance.
- Familiarity with high-speed interconnects found in data center platforms, such as PCI Express, DDR, etc.
- Experience with assembling data center platforms – i.e. installing boards into chassis, attaching cables, heatsinks, fans, etc.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
- 8-10 years experience required.
